This is the above ground cemetery at/near the base of the Great Pyramid in present day Egypt. The south side of the pyramid hosts a small settlement not seen by the conventional "tourist" because they are hidden by a wall from seeing. The community is in very close proximity to the pyramid plaza. Their present day practice for burying the dead is to bury them in above ground graves because of the high water table. Notice the large trees requiring full time year round water for dozens if not hundreds of year to survive. The conventional thought that the pyramids are or were in the desert is a misinterpretation of the past and the present.
